Anyone need a shower?

Hey everyone!  Counting the days?  Well, I just heard something kind of cool.  Apparently there is a meteor shower from August 9-13 and so while we are flying out to Alaska, you may be able to see it from the plane.  How cool is that?!

Great cruise port information!

I stumbled on this website this evening!  The website tells you seemingly EVERYTHING about ports around the world including Alaska.  Check it out for information on excursions, shopping, etc.  But also check it out for more detailed facts like free WIFI spots, local banks, average temperatures, etc.

Do you Ulu?

I have read that one of the most popular souvenirs to bring home from Alaska is a Ulu knife.  They look pretty cool.  Here is a little information about them.

The Ulu Factory store is in Anchorage and we will be stopping there on our way from Denali to Seward.  Here is the link to their website :

Current temps

Hey everyone!  I have been checking on temperatures in the last week or so.  I have seen temperatures in Fairbanks range from 85 last week to mid 70's this week.  Juneau, Icy Strait Point, and  Skagway have been in the mid 50's to mid 60's with rain.

So depending on your tolerance level, shorts could be worn possibly for some of the time.  I am not making any promises about the weather but I can promise that the husband and I will be bringing at least one pair of shorts and also may try to find a pair of pants that has the zippers a the knees to turn the pants into shorts if weather permits!

We also plan to bring our bathing suits for the hot tubs in the evening.  I have always enjoyed a warm hot tub when it is chilly outside so that is perfect for me!

Counting down the days!

Just another Nugget of information

While visiting Mendenhall Glacier we can take the trail to see Nugget Falls.  Here is a little information about it.

Minneapolis Airport Information

Good morning everyone!  For most of us, we will be flying into the Minneapolis airport when we are heading out to Alaska and we will have a layover there for some time.  I figured we might want to grab a bite to eat or if your feet are restless, you can find things to explore in these larger airports.  So here is a link I found for the airport:

http://www.mspairport.com/

This will let you know about places to eat or shop or explore in the airport.  Enjoy!
